Charity at Hamond House Day Nursery

Each year in the summer holidays we hold a fundraising charity event in nursery.

This gives all staff, parents / children and local neighbours the opportunity to come together and help raise for great causes.

Charities we have fundraised for in the past

Brain research UK – This is in loving memory of a great staff member who sadly passed away in 2016.

Children in need - each year we support children in need, children and staff dress in PJ’S for the day and parents love to get involved by bringing in home made buns for us to sell at our bun sale.

The Girls Army – This charity supports families in need. We ask all families to help by donating any unwanted items around their homes to support other families in the community.

Why we raise for charities

Royds park railway Spenborough - Throughout the year we plan trips and picnics to the railway were children have the chance to experience the steam train rides, we also donate our train ride money to them.

Sparrow Park - Our sister company Hamond Projects fund Sparrow Park to ensure the community in Heckmondwike is kept tidy, we take our children often to help plant and keep the area tidy.

The magic wishing well - We collect donations for their food bank, we also collect small gift items to create Christmas presents for children to help make their wishes come true.

Rainbow Baby Bank - We support, donate and refer families in need.

Care home Visits - Throughout the year we visit our local care home and work in partnership with their team to promote good community relationships, our staff and nursery children often pop in for visits, hold activities, send in gifts and even hold an annual carol singing performance at Christmas.
